SAS

SAS (Scandinavian Airlines System) is a leading airline group headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden, a flag carrier of Denmark, Norway, and Sweden.

SAS History

SAS traces its roots back to August 1946 when three national carriers - Svensk Interkontinental Lufttrafik (Swedish Intercontinental Airlines), Det Danske Luftfartselskab (Danish Air Lines), and Det Norske Luftfartselskap (Norwegian Air Lines) - decided to merge and form a joint airline. This collaboration aimed to provide efficient air travel services within Scandinavia and establish connections with the rest of the world.

On September 1, 1946, SAS officially commenced operations with a fleet of DC-3 aircraft. The airline's initial focus was on domestic routes, but it quickly expanded its network to include international destinations. Over the years, SAS has continuously evolved and adapted to meet the changing demands of the travel industry.

Today, SAS operates a modern fleet of over 120 aircraft, including Airbus A320neo, Airbus A330, and Boeing 737 and 787. By investing in newer planes equipped with advanced technology, SAS ensures a safe, comfortable, and environmentally friendly travel experience for its passengers.
